Wish List

At OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute, we strive to create a warm and supportive environment for children undergoing cancer treatment or navigating a hematology diagnosis. To help bring comfort, joy, and special moments during their hospital stay, we maintain a wish list filled with items that make a meaningful difference for our young patients.

Why the Wish List Matters

Undergoing cancer treatment or navigating a hematology diagnosis can be tough for kids and their families. Small gifts and thoughtful items from the wish list help brighten their day, ease stress, and provide distraction during difficult times. Every donation – big or small – supports our mission to care for the whole child, not just their illness.

What’s on the Wish List?

Our wish list includes age-appropriate toys, games, books, art supplies and comfort items that can be used during treatments, hospital stay, or playtime. We carefully select items that promote healing, creativity and fun while considering safety and infection control guidelines.

Donation Guidelines

To ensure the safety and well-being of all patients, please follow these guidelines when donating:

  • Due to infection control and allergies, all donations must be brand new, odor-free and in original packaging (tags attached is acceptable).
  • All donations must be purchased within the last three to six months of drop-off date.
  • No used toys of any kind will be accepted. This includes stuffed animals or toys that have been kept in storage or on display.
  • No food or candy items will be accepted in any form of gift or goody bag.
  • No VHS tapes will be accepted.
  • No donations will be accepted that depict violence of any sort including toy weapons, such as guns, knives or swords, violent theming, or any other projectiles including foam or plastic bullets and arrows.
  • No latex items will be accepted such as balloons, erasers, some balls, rubber bands.
  • Do not wrap your donation in gift wrapping paper or put in a gift bag. We need to see the gift after donation.
